Life on Campus

 

This funding is brokered through Community Living Oshawa/Clarington for people who have a developmental disability, living in Durham Region and are pursuing ongoing post secondary education.

Life on campus funds are allocated through a committee of community partners who deliver foundations services. Committee representatives are made up of people from Community Living Oshawa/Clarington, Community Living Durham North, Community Living Ajax/Pickering/Whitby, Durham Association for Family Respite Services, and Kerry’s Place.

 

The Purpose of Life on Campus Service is to:

•improve resources to adults with developmental disabilities, who are between the ages of 18 and 29 and are transitioning to community life

•support people to achieve adult and post secondary education goals

•increase participation in developing transitional skills and the participation in continuing education

•provide funding to help with additional tutoring and orientation support the person may require to achieve their educational goals

 

The applicant must be a person connected through an existing developmental services  agency in the Durham region. For further information, contact one of the above-noted agencies.
