CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – April 2018
Community Living Oshawa/Clarington is seeking innovative, creative and passionate volunteers to help support our community participation based services. Our day programs facilitate recreation and leisure programs, which promote a well-rounded lifestyle and fosters opportunities for our members to connect with and be part of our community. We plan, organize and facilitate our monthly activities based on life skills, recreation, community participation, personal development, health and wellness, arts, music and social events, job skilled preparedness, cooking and volunteering.
We are seeking volunteers who would like to share their skills and talents in the following areas:
COOKING: Come cook with us!
Facilitate cooking classes held at The Clarington Project in our beautiful kitchen. We offer baking classes, cooking classes and hot lunches on Thursdays. New recipes and ideas are always welcome.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS: Come run a fun healthy activity with us!
Come teach a Zumba class, Thai Chi, dance class, hiking group, walking club, soccer, basketball, baseball, parking lot hockey, any activity that you enjoy and would love to share with others.
ART AND CREATIVE EXPRESSION: Come teach a creative class!
Volunteers can come teach wood working classes, paint classes, stained art, pottery, bracelet making, jewelry making, cake decorating, writing classes etc. Come share your creativity with us!
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Come share your knowledge with us!
We are always looking for fun, new, innovative ways to share knowledge in many areas, some of which include money management, internet safety, job skills preparedness, resume wring, etc.
EVENT PLANNING: Join our Gala Committee!
We host an Annual Gala every year and we are always looking to have some external members who like to use their event planning and philanthropy skills to help with our annual fundraiser. If you are looking to make a difference and gain some experience in planning an amazing event, join our Gala Committee.
DRIVERS: The Clarington Project is always looking for drivers to help get us around to all the fun places we go!
COMMITTEE or BOARD of DIRECTORS: Your professional or life experience can assist CLOC through your involvement as a Board member or on one of our standing committees of the Board (Finance, Governance, Policy, Planning & Quality Assurance, Human Rights).
