Dewey’s Café is a small business, located on the mezzanine level at the Bowmanville Branch of the Clarington Public Library. Dewey’s is a quaint café with a small menu that can provide a light lunch, baked goods and coffee. Dewey’s provides a training opportunity to adults, with a developmental disability who wish to gain experience in the restaurant and customer service field.
The Café is just one of the innovative services of Community Living Oshawa /Clarington. The municipality of Clarington and the Bowmanville library have partnered with CLOC in ensuring the success of this business. The innovative training opportunities at the Cafe have opened up doors for people to obtain competitive employment in their communities.
If you plan on visiting the library, or you are in town shopping, don’t forget to stop in and pick something up. There is a quiet seating area for those who want to enjoy a coffee, baked goods or lunch.
